Obituary for Albert Carey Woodward Sr.

Albert Carey Woodward Sr., 93 years of age passed away, Tuesday, July 7, 2009. He was born September 14, 1915 in Auburn, KY to the late Cooper C. and Nannie E. (Harland) Woodward. Albert married the late Mary Alice Woodward on September 2, 1950.

He has lived in Indianapolis, IN since 1951; Middleton, KY for 30 years, and in Auburn, KY during his childhood years. He was a 1933 Graduate of Middleton High School and was a former member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple. He was also a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose #17, member of the UAW Local #933, former member of the Teamsters Local #135, Patriarch of the Woodward Group - Lap Sponsor of Brickyard 400 and Corporate Sponsor of the Indianapolis Police Department Motorcycle Drill Team. He worked as a Heat Treat Controlman for Allisons, a Division of GM in Indianapolis, IN for 32 years.

Albert is survived by 4 Children: Mary Nan of Russellville, KY, Joan Mercer of Indianapolis, IN, Albert Carey Woodward Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, and Rick Woodward of Indianapolis, IN; Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by 2 Sons, Ronnie D. and Jerry. W. Woodward.

Calling hours for Albert will be from 5-8pm, Friday, July 10, 2009 at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, KY. The Funeral will be at 1:00pm, Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, KY. He will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. Memorial Contributions may be made to Charity of Choice.
