Obituary for Betty Jean Johnson

Betty Jean Johnson, 75, of Mooresville, IN, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2013. Betty was born to Kenneth Paul and Ada Esther (Cochran) Vanoy on April 22, 1938 in Liberty, KY. Betty married Shirley Johnson on September 5, 1953.

Betty was a Homemaker. She was a member of Eternal Life Baptist Church, where she was the Praise & Worship Leader. She loved to sing for the Lord. She has lived in Mooresville, IN for the past 59 years and her birthplace of Liberty, KY for 15 years.

Betty is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Shirley Johnson of Mooresville, IN; four children, Pamela G. (Charles) Walton, Dorral S. (Pamela) Johnson, Kenneth C. (Amy) Johnson and Shannon R. (Raoul) Kaiser, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Evona Stafford.

Family and friends may attend calling hours from 11-1 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Eternal Life Baptist Church in Mooresville, IN. Ralph Owens will officiate the 1 p.m. celebration of life service on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Eternal Life Baptist Church. Jones Family Mortuary in has been entrusted with the arrangements in Mooresville, IN and McKinney & Brown Funeral Home have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements in Liberty, KY. There will also be calling from 11-12 noon, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Liberty, KY with Ralph Owens officiating a 12 noon funeral service also at the church. Betty will be laid to rest at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Liberty, KY.
