Obituary for George D Fox

George D Fox, 90, of Camby, passed away unexpectedly after battling congestive heart failure on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. He was born to Albert W. and Martha (Lainhart) Fox on April 15, 1925 in Foxtown, KY. He married Opal E. (Renner) Fox on October 11, 1946.

George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was Owner-Operator of Fox's Feed Store since 1986. He was also a lifetime farmer and dairy farmer. He was an active coon hunter for many years along with being a breeder of top coon dogs, which won several awards. He was head trustee and very involved in Grace Missionary Church at the time the church was first built. He lived in Camby for most of his life.

George is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Opal E. Fox of Camby; five children, Connie (Dan) Wagner of Morgantown, Peggy Fox of Mooresville, Marti (Robert) Lambert of Camby, David (Debbie) Fox of Martinsville, Joanna (Paul) Houck of Camby; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. George is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Martha Fox; a son, George D Fox; four sisters, Bessie McKinney, Hazel Weddle, Lula St. John, Ruby Alexander; three brothers, Tal, Alfred and Jay Fox.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 23 and from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, October 24 at Grace Church, 4172 E. Allison Rd., Camby. Pastor Marty Longcor will officiate George's celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Grace Church. George will be laid to rest in Mooresville Cemetery, Mooresville.
