Alvin O. (Big Al)  Golden
Alvin O. "Big Al" Golden, 82, of Camby, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 2, 1935 to Eddith and May (Anderson) Golden in Alicia, Arkansas. He married Alice E. (Goodwin) Golden on August 4, 1954.

Alvin was an Engraver for Herff Jones Company for several years before retiring in 2000. He attended Hynsdale Church. He lived in Camby for most of his life. He sang and played music at many local places. His love was country and gospel music. He was loved by many good friends and family including his wife of 63 years, Alice, four children, four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Alice Golden of Camby; four loving children, Jeanne (Melvin) Hale of Camby, Brenda (Jon) Mills of Martinsville, Martina (John) Chance of Bloomington, Alvin O. Golden Jr. of Martinsville; four grandchildren, Mindy Whitley, Chrissy Atkins, Shawn Phillips and Cory Mills ; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Aline Spicer of AR and Maureen Simmons of AR. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Frances Parsley; and three brothers, Maurice, Stacie and Odell Golden.

Family and friends may gather to pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, March 19th and 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20th in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate Alvin's celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20th in Jones Family Mortuary. He will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
