Dorothy Eldridge  Blake
Dorothy Eldridge Blake, 95, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord Sept 11, 2017.
Dorothy was born to Hiram and Bertha (Caudill) Eldridge on Dec 21, 1921 in Bull Fork, KY and married Levi Byron Blake June 2, 1947. Dorothy's neighborhood concerns led to clothes pantry at Mars Hill Free Methodist Church, which complimented the early beginnings of Community Caring & Sharing currently serving the greater Mars Hill community. Dorothy was a member of the MHFM Church for 57 years and past treasurer. A gifted accountant she worked locally as cashier in several locations and at the Post Office. She also worked at Oak Ridge Labs, Beldon Wire and contributed to the WWII efforts at Ford in the blueprint office building aircraft. She valued her role as homemaker above all and lived "My hope is to schedule 60% of my day and leave 40% for service to the Lord"...Dorothy is survived by 3 children: Bob (Beverly) Blake of Mooresville, Kenny (Maggie) Blake of Mooresville and Tam (Jeff) Schreiner of WI; loving daughter-in-law Kathy Blake of Coatesville; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vencil Eldridge; sister-in-law, Stella Eldridge; and brother-in-law, Paul Tranbarger. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Charlie Blake. Both Visitation 5-8pm Friday Sept 15 and service 10:00am Sat Sept 16th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Her resting place will be Bryan Cemetery in Centerville, IN.
