Obituary for Cliff Allen

Cliff  Allen
Cliff Allen, 74, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born to Burchel and Callie (Bishop) Allen on May 14, 1943 in Oneida, KY. He graduated from Mooresville High School in 1962. He married Donna R. (Austin) Allen on September 4, 1964.

Cliff was a Truck Driver for USF Holland in Greenwood for six years and Transcon in Indianapolis for 28 years, retiring in 2008. Following retirement, he worked as a Bus Driver for Cavallo Bus Lines in Indianapolis and Miller Bus Lines in Indianapolis for nine years. He umpired baseball games and officiated basketball games in Mooresville and the surrounding area for 10 years. He attended Camby Community Church. He loved to RV around the world. He lived in Mooresville for most of his life, Indianapolis and his birthplace of Oneida, KY for eight years.

Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna Allen of Mooresville; three loving children, Steve Allen of Mooresville, Rod Allen of Mooresville and Tammy Weldon of Mooresville; seven grandchildren, Drew Allen, Samantha Allen, Elizabeth Allen, Anna Allen, Tyler Weldon, Kyle Weldon and Austin Hawks; one great-grandson, Grayson Wayne Allen with another one on the way; a brother, Donnie Allen; and a sister, Gerri VanWinkle of Camby. Cliff is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl Wayne Allen; and a sister, Josephine Allen.

Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 and 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Jones Crossing Banquet Center, next door to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Charles Paxton will officiate Cliff's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Jones Crossing Banquet Center. Cliff will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
