Obituary for Russell V. Day

Russell V. "Bud" Day, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 to be with the love of his life. He was born to Arnold and Tressa (Gilvin) Day on February 14, 1938 in Indianapolis. He graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1956. He married Lois (Paddock) Day on February 2, 1957.

Russell was a Supervisor of the Capsule Department for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis for 37 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed reading, fishing and gardening. He was an avid IU and Colts fan. He loved spending time with family and taking care of his girls. He lived in Indianapolis for most of his life and Mooresville for 25 years.

Russell is survived by three daughters, Debra (Mindy Mott) Day of Warren, Kristina Day of Indianapolis, Sheila (Bryan) Tubbs of Carmel; five grandchildren, Jennifer Foltz, Casey Lehr, Lauren Lehr, Madison Tubbs, Gannon Tubbs; two great-grandchildren, Brady Lee, Liam Foltz; a sister, Cara Harmon; two sisters-in-law, Kay Archer, Linda Friday; and several nieces and nephews. Russell is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife; and a brother, Johnny Day.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 and 10-11 a.m on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Terry Crist will officiate Russell's celebration of life service at 11 a.m on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary. He will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
