Obituary for Waymon Nicholson

C. Waymon Nicholson, 78, of Martinsville, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. He was born November 8, 1938 in Floral, Arkansas to Luther and Cora Nicholson. He married Judy A. (Benjamin) Nicholson on September 5, 1992.

Waymon grew up in Floral, Arkansas and lived in Hendricks County for 35 years and in Martinsville for 20 years. He was a car inspector for CSX Railroad in Avon for 35 years. He was a member of Community Church of Mooresville, volunteer for Morgan County Food Pantry and Churches in Mission. He was also an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Waymon is survived by five children: Tony (Angela) Nicholson of Coatesville, Lori (Clark) Ferguson of Brazil, Marci (Craig) Briles of Bloomington, Franci (Kevin) Dilk of Greenwood and Joe (Rachel) Nicholson of Whiteland and 12 grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jones Family Mortuary. The celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Waymon will be laid to rest in Centerton Cemetery.
