Ruby W. (Bowers) Dorney, 85, of Martinsville, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2016 with family by her side. Ruby was born to Elmer and Pearl (Williard) Bowers on February 23, 1931 in Marmaduke, Arkansas.

Ruby was a meat packer for Hebrew National in Indianapolis for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Life Line Baptist Church in Camby and a lifetime member of The Women Of The Moose Lodge in greenwood. She enjoyed quilting and cooking. She lived in Mooresville since 1960.

Ruby is survived by five children; Sharon (Jerry) Karst of MO, Johnnie (Patricia) Goble of Indianapolis, Glenda (Cliff) Gentry of Martinsville, Barbara (Darrell) Saylor of Martinsville, Roger Goble of Mooresville; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beulah "Boots" Crowe of Lebanon. She is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Bobby Dorney; first spouse and father to the children, Johnnie Goble; two brothers; and two sisters.

Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Lyman Taylor will officiate Ruby's celebration of life service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary. Ruby will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
