Obituary for Adele D. Schmidt (Prevost)

Adele D. (Prevost) Schmidt, 77, of Camby, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2016 with family by her side. She was born to Oscar and Helene "Juliette" (Turcotte) Prevost on April 6, 1939 in Bronx, NY. She married Paul Schmidt on February 8, 1964.

Adele worked as a Business Manager for Indiana University - Riley Hospital for 18 years, retiring in 2014. She attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Indianapolis. She enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her great-granddaughter, Luna. She lived in Camby for 9 years, Indianapolis for 30 years and her birthplace of Bronx, NY.

Adele is survived by three children, David (Elizabeth) Schmidt of CA, John (Rachel) Schmidt of CA, Jennifer (Mike) Weinbrecht of Camby; two grandchildren, Dylan (Katelyn) Peden, Ashlie Cooper; one great-granddaughter, Luna Peden; and one sister, Bernice Strunk of Indianapolis. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Roy and Edward Prevost; and one sister, G. Muriel Van Slyck.

Family and friends may gather from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 and 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor James Myers will officiate Adele's celebration of life at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in Jones Family Mortuary. Adele will be laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery, Indianapolis.
