The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ronald Atkinson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

An Open Heart

Ron and I had that patient nurse/friend relationship. You all remember his open heart surgery. It was an honor to care for him then. He really went along with the post op plan sort of willingly. But best of all, it solidified our friendship. He was always a faithful volunteer for projects. It was special for me since I never lived aong side any other person I cared for in my over 3 decade career. We did clean up projects and children's stages together. I could always count on Ron to complete whatever he said he would do for or productions. He never said much, but I listened carefully when he did. His observations were spot on. I also remember pontooning with te Atkinsons at Racoon Lake on a very hot day. We bonded during hs open heart surgey time, but it was the time after that I saw his open heart.
