Obituary for William L. Norman

William L. "Bill" Norman, 76, of Mooresville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 . He was born to Isaac H. Norman and Nancy L. (Fesler) Carmichael on March 22nd, 1939 in Norman, IN. He graduated from Switz City High School in 1957. He married Janet S. "Jan" (Williams) Norman on June 20, 1964.

Bill was an Independent Insurance Agent for 50 years. He was a founding member and attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church for 48 years, where he was song leader for 31 years. He loved spending time with family. He enjoyed gardening and was a big IU and Colts fan. He lived in Mooresville for most of his life, Switz City for 11 years and Norman for 7 years.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jan Norman of Mooresville; seven children, Denise (Jeff) Reavis of Evansville, Roberta (Ed) Buchanan of FL, Robert (Brigitte) Norman of Germany, Teresa Sulinski of Vincennes, William (Lori) Norman Jr. of Martinsville, Janet (Matt) Craig of Plainfield, Isaac (Amy) Norman of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, David Norman of Switz City; and a sister, Delores Thompson of Bedford. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Norman and Nancy Carmichael.

Family and friends may gather from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 6 and 9 to 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 7 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1150 St. Road 144, Mooresville. Pastor Everett Barnard and Pastor Brandon Sichting will officiate the celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Bill will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
