Obituary for Elizabeth P. Willis (Fletcher)

Elizabeth P. (Fletcher) Willis, 90, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, July 3, 2015. She was born October 7, 1924 to Russell Fletcher and Rhoda (Bryant) Phillips in Lee County, VA. She married Kelly Willis on April 17, 1942.

Elizabeth worked as a custodial worker for General Motors for 17.5 years, retiring in 1992. She attended Way of the Cross Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family. She lived in Mooresville since 1951.

Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Linda Bowen of Plainfield, Judy Stanton of Martinsville; seven grandchildren, Anthony Sink, Julia Sink, Andy (Lara) Willis-Daily, Kelly Rae Spradlin, Ryan Culver, Laurel Hubbard, Lucas Stanton; five great-grandchildren, Evan Culver, Ashlee Culver, Brandt Stanton, Bree Stanton, Celeste Daily; a brother, George Fletcher; three sisters, Nora Reynolds, Betty Hernadez and Grace Noe. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Russell Fletcher and Rhoda (Bryant) Phillips; her husband, Kelly Willis; a son, James Willis; a daughter, Lois Willis; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Stanton.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m., Monday, July 6 and 9-10 a.m. July 7 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Tuesday, July 7 at Jones Family Mortuary. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
