She married Jerry D. Mowery on March 25th, 1956. The two met during a chance encounter at a car wreck, East of Bloomfield. When Jerry was asked by a friend if he would like to go out, he embraced the opportunity with a simple, "Sure." As snowbirds, they enjoyed spending winters in Texas. She took pride in having explored all 50 states, New Zealand, Australia, and even spending time in a pup tent in Montana. With a passion for motorcycle riding, she embraced adventure and cherished the unforgettable experience of sharing a hot air balloon ride with her friends. People often referred to her as a "wimp," because of her fondness for hamburgers.
