Wilma Haynes

Wilma Gertrude (Hatfield) Haynes, age 98, of Mooresville passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018. She was born March 15, 1920, in Norton, Virginia, to James and Cora Hatfield.

Wilma and her family moved from St. Charles, Virginia, to Mooresville in 1957. She attended New Life Community Wesleyan Church and was an avid volunteer for the Mooresville Senior Citizens Center and was active in the Mooresville Kitchen Band.

Wilma was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Toy Haynes, her son Jerry Haynes, and her siblings Andrew Hatfield, Tennessee Muse, and Clara Jean Napier.

She is survived by her children Brenda (Ron) Scott of Jamestown, Connie (Bob) Carlisle of Martinsville, Cindy (Jerry) Moffitt of Granbury, TX, and Steve (Susan) Haynes of Mooresville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Pastor Mike Linville will officiate services at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville on Saturday, April 7, beginning at 1p.m. Friends may call from 11a.m. to 1p.m. Interment will be at Mooresville Cemetery.
