William Wood

William G. "Woody" Wood, 49 years of age passed away Friday, January 9, 2009. He was born August 4, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Charles F. "Woody" Wood and Melba A. (Arnold) Hemings of Beech Grove, IN. He married Tamara E. (Campbell) Wood of Indianapolis, IN on August 4, 1993. Woody has lived in Indianapolis, IN for all of his life. He was a 1978 Beech Grove High School Graduate; loved fishing with his sons; and spending time with his family. For the past 20 years, he has been a Correctional Officer for the Plainfield Correctional Facility. He is survived by his Wife, Tamara E. (Campbell) Wood of Indianapolis, IN; 2 Sons, Blake William Wood and Jacob Guy Wood of Indianapolis, IN; 2 Step Children, Melissa M. and Joseph L. Bivens III of Indianapolis, IN; Mother and Stepfather, Melba and Dusty Hemings of Beech Grove, IN; Stepmother, Karen S. Wood of Indianapolis, IN; and 2 Brothers, Robert D. (Alisa) Wood of Bloomington, IN and Nick (Julie) Wood of Indianapolis, IN. He is also preceded in death by his Father, Charles F. "Woody" Wood. Calling hours for William will be from 3-8pm, Monday, January 12, 2009 and from 10-11am, Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center (right next door to Jones Family Mortuary). The funeral will be at 11am, Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center in Mooresville, IN. Jones Family Mortuary handled the arrangements. Marva K. Newberry will officiate the service and William will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
