William Scaggs

William E. "Bill" Scaggs, 89, of Mooresville, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2006 in Beech Grove, IN. He was born June 12, 1916 in Martinsville, IN to the late Carl and Artie (Gerholt) Scaggs. He received the title Honorary Deputy Sheriff in Marion County on his 75th birthday. He was a Civil Engineer for Asphalt Surfacing Co. in Indianapolis, IN for 50 years. After retiring in 1991, he was a Civil Engineer for Brady Brothers in Indianapolis for 5 years. He also worked as a Civil Defense Policeman in Indianapolis for 25 years and Deputy Town Marshall in Clermont, IN for 5 years. Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Thursday,April 13, 2006 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville, with calling from 4-8pm, Wednesday, April 12, 2006 and 1 hour prior to the 11am funeral service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Hedges; and two brothers: Arthur and Melvin Scaggs. He is survived by two children: Jackie Ford of NC and Dan (Zina) Scaggs of Indianapolis; 18 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren;one brother, Robert Scaggs of Mooresville, IN.
