William Eugene Dugger, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, passed away on February 12, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 7, 1941, in Indianapolis, to his parents Roy A. and Ethel Maude (Whitiker) Dugger, William led a life filled with purpose and passion. He married Delores Joanné "Jo" (Flaherty) Dugger on July 3, 1960.
A proud graduate of Cathedral High School in 1959, he dedicated 40 years of his life to working as a tool and die maker, embodying the principles of hard work and craftsmanship in the manufacturing industry.
William spent his later years in Camby, where he was a beloved member of the community and a faithful parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville. He was known for his warm smile, kind demeanor, and unwavering support for his loved ones. William was an enthusiastic golfer who delighted in spending time on the course with his beloved wife, Jo. A proud highlight of his golfing career was achieving a hole-in-one at Hickory Stick Golf Club in Greenwood, a testament to his love for the game.
In addition to golfing, William had a passion for music, often expressing himself through his guitar, and found joy in flying model airplanes. His legacy of dedication and generosity will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
William is survived by his wife, Delores Joanné "Jo" Dugger; his three sons, William Patrick Dugger (Celli) of Indianapolis, Richard Eugene Dugger (Debbie) of Cincinnati, and Christopher Michael Dugger of Mooresville; as well as nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, with another on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, David Anthony Dugger, and his sister, Patty.
Funeral services for William will be held on February 17, 2026. A visitation will take place at the Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service from 11 am to 12:30 pm. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 1:00 pm. The services will culminate with a cryptside service at Calvary and Holy Cross/St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis, where he will be laid to rest in entombment.
In this time of loss, we take comfort in the loving memories we share of William-a responsible, dedicated, and inspiring man whose spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of all he touched.
