William Roy Brandenburg

William Roy Brandenburg, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, June 17th, 2025. He was born March 18th, 1949 in Muncie, Indiana to his parents Ivan R. and Mary Francis (Smith) Brandenburg. He later married Carolyn J. (Adams) Brandenburg on June 17th, 1995.

William is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. Brandenburg; his two children: Brenda Marie Edwards of Carmel and Jeffrey Allen Edwards; two step-children: Larry Miller of Indianapolis and Jennifer Brosman (Ryan) of Franklin; one grandchild, Evie Brosman; and two sisters: Naomia Olsom (Doug) of Florida and Karen Bain (John) of South Carolina.

William is preceded in death by both of his parents and nephew, Billy Brandenburg.

William was a proud graduate of Decatur Central High School, class of 1967. Afterward, he served in the United States Army and completed his service in 1971. Following his time in the military, he worked as an electronic technician for ITR in Indianapolis and eventually retired.

William was a life member of both Greenwood VFW #5864 and the American Legion, where he enjoyed connecting with fellow veterans. He had a passion for video games and loved listening to music, especially tunes from the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Aerosmith. Those who knew him often described him as a genuinely kind gentleman with a big heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a smile.

A private visitation will be held at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service.
