Virginia Hammer

Virginia M. Hammer, 75, Mooresville, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Meadow Lakes. She was born on August 14, 1937 in Estill County, KY to the late Glen and Elon (Becknell) Gentry. Virginia lived most of her life in the Mooresville area where she worked as a clerk for Hopkins Sand and Gravel for 36 years. She was a 1956 graduate of Monrovia High School. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Virginia is survived by 3 children: Mark Hammer of Mooresville, Rick Hammer of Mooresville and Kimberly Griggs of Plainfield; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 8 siblings: Lilly Miller, Morris Gentry, Clark Gentry, Jess Gentry, Druscilla VanHoy, Jeffie Wade, James "Louis" Gentry and Maxine Gentry. There will be a private graveside service held at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, IN. Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville is handling arrangements.
