Viola "Jean" Stevenson Lugar

Viola "Jean" (Hackett) Stevenson Lugar, 95, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, July 4th, 2022. She was born April 24th, 1927 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana to her parents, Wilfred M. Hackett and Florence (Bullock) Burns. She was previous married to the late William Stevenson. She later married the late Harry Lugar on November 25th, 1995. She was a resident of Camby for most of her life. Jean is survived by her three children: Roger Dale Stevenson of Martinsville, Cheryl (Larry) Seitz of Greenwood, and Forrest Stevenson of Virginia; nine grandchildren: Stacy, Ben, John, Jill, Jennifer, Kelley, Scott, William, and Denny; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Wilma Randall of Roachdale. Jean is preceded in death by both of her parents; her first husband, William Stevenson; her second husband, Harry Lugar; one son, John William Stevenson; and two brothers: Fred and James Hackett. Jean was a 1945 graduate of Mooresville High School. She was a Title Clerk for Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Indianapolis for 21 years before retiring in 1995. She attended Mooresville First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Tri- County Homemakers Club. Family and friends may show their love and support from 2 to 5pm on Sunday, July 10th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville and from 10 to 11am on Monday, July 11th at Mooresville First United Methodist Church in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held following visitation at the church at 11 am on Monday, July 11th. Jean will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
