Thomas Stephens

Thomas H. Stephens, 86, of Jacksonville, FL and formerly a long time resident of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2016. Thomas was born to Thomas Howard and Audrey Mae (Fischer) Stephens on October 17, 1929 in Indianapolis. He graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1948. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Dorothy (Frazier) Stephens on February 23, 1951.

Thomas was a Store Manager for Guarantee Auto/Nationwise for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He was past vice president of Indy Cart Club. He is a life member of Decatur Central High School.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy (Frazier) Stephens of FL; two daughters, Becky (Greg) Kimball of FL and Marianne Stephens of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Brandon and Christopher Kimball; two great-grandchildren, Bella and Cyle Kimball; two sisters, Alice Burdsall and Thelma Sherrill. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Howard Stephens.

Family and friends may gather from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 and 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Jerry Rairdon will officiate Thomas's celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary.
