Thomas "Spike" Rose, 75, of Plainfield passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Hendricks Regional Health in Danville. He was born on June 12, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Roy and Helen (Archer) Rose. He married Shirley (Sheets) Rose on November 3, 1956. Spike lived most of his life in Mooresville. He was a machinist by trade, having worked at Federal Mogul for 13 years and then retiring from Seradyn. Spike was an autoracing enthusiast, both as spectator and participant. His particular favorite was sprint cars. He raced at Paragon, IN where he was later a car owner and took great enjoyment in watching his son at the wheel during his current sprint car career. When he wasn't at the track he enjoyed sitting on the front porch so he could watch and feed the squirrels. Spike is survived by his wife, Shirley (Sheets) Rose; 3 children: Richard Rose, Mike (Sarah) Rose and Bill Rose; 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter and sister, Donna Andres. He is preceded by a daughter, Cindy Rose and a brother, Richard Rose. Friends may call 4-8pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville and 9-10am, Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10am, Wednesday, May 16, 2012 also at Jones Family Mortuary with Sue Whitesel officiating. Spike will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
