Thomas E. Maurer

Thomas E. "Tom" Maurer, 76, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, October 28th, 2021. He was born April 8th, 1945 in Milan, Indiana to his parents, Peter "Pete" and Janet (Purcell) Maurer. Although he grew up in Rising Sun, Indiana, he spent 12 years as a resident in Greenwood and 35 years in Mooresville. He married Pam J. (Ascherman) Maurer on May 28th, 1965.

Tom is survived by his son, Brian (Jana) Maurer; one granddaughter, Brittany Maurer; three sisters: Mary Ann (Tom) Hudson, Marti (Tom) Byrne and Jan (Don) Green; and one brother, James P. Maurer. Tom is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Pam J. Maurer; and one brother, Peter John "PJ" Maurer.

Tom was a 1963 graduate of Rising Sun High School. He retired as an Inspector for Allison's Division of General Motors (Roll Royce). After retirement, he drove for Stoops Buick in Plainfield. Tom was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a big sports fan and loved watching the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds, I.U. basketball and golf. Tom especially enjoyed watching his granddaughter play softball. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 2nd and from 9:15 to 10:15 am on Wednesday, November 3rd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A prayer service will be held at 10:15 am following visitation on Wednesday, November 3rd at the funeral home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 3rd at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1200 N. Indiana Street, Mooresville, Indiana 46158. Tom will be laid to rest next to his wife at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
