Thelma M. (Hamon) Stanton, 78, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2015. Thelma was born on November 7, 1936 in Logansport. She graduated from Redkey High School in 1954. She married Charles W. Stanton on April 17, 1955. Thelma worked as a Dental Assistant with Dr. Larry Ryan, Bruce Field's Family Dentistry and Dr. Driggers Dentistry for a total of 30 years, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening and just being involved in any activity outdoors. She lived in Indianapolis for most of her life. Thelma is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles W. Stanton of Indianapolis; a son, John (Rita) Stanton of Indianapolis; a daughter, Teresa Stanton of Indianapolis; two granddaughters, Michelle and Claire; a brother, Ralph Hamon Jr. of Portland; two sisters, Donna Luzzader of Dunkirk and Sandra Kirby of Redkey. Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Hamon; a brother, Donald Hamon; and a sister, Deloris Frederick. Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2015 and from 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Greg York will officiate Thelma's celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary. Thelma will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association, 50 E. 91st. St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
