Thelma Catherine (Green) Mann, 97, of Camby, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2016. Thelma was born to Clifford and Evaline (Hamilton) Green Machan on November 22, 1918 in Indianapolis. She graduated from Southport High School in 1937. She married James Edward Mann Sr. on June 12, 1947.
Thelma was a clerk for Shoe World in Mooresville for 12 years, retiring in 1978. She was a 60 year member of Friendswood Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting and volunteering her time to make bibles and serve at the Good Hope Mission. She lived in Camby for most of her life.
Thelma is survived by two sons, James Edward (Carol) Mann Jr. of Martinsville, Cecil Eugene (Gail) Mann of Camby; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Thelma is preceded in death by her parents; spouse; two sisters, Hazel White, Infant, Helen O. Green; and two brothers, James Robert Green and Vinton Green.
Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 and 9-10 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Josh Hess will officiate Thelma's celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Jones Family Mortuary. Thelma will be laid to rest in New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis.
