Terry Eugene Cordray

Terry Eugene Cordray, born on April 27, 1956, in Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2026, just days shy of his 70th birthday. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Terry's warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He married Kimberly Diane (Clark) Cordray on June 9, 2006 and the two spent nearly 20 years together.

Terry enlisted in the United States Army on June 26, 1974, serving his country with pride until his discharge on March 29, 1977, achieving the rank of Specialist 4. Following his military service, he dedicated over 43 years to the trucking industry, working as a truck driver for O'Riley Auto Parts and later at Edwards Equipment in Danville. His passion for the open road was only rivaled by his love for motorcycles and helicopters, which brought him joy and adventure.

A man of the outdoors, Terry delighted in mowing the lawn and embracing nature's beauty. He was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying kindness and compassion in every aspect of his life.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Diane Cordray, of Mooresville; his devoted mother, Betty Chandler; four cherished grandchildren, Brice, Brendon, Malachi, and Ezra Cordray; and his sister, Judi Bean. He also leaves behind his beloved furry friends, Zoey and Willow, and his nieces, Angie Lahey, Rhonda Strunk, and Sandra Guthrie, who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Terry was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Allison Taylor; his son, Shawn Cordray; his brother, Roger Chandler; and his sister, Joann Patrick. His legacy will live on through the love and memories he shared with family and friends.

A heartfelt gratitude goes to his dear friends Don Fuller, Ed Sauer, Tony Gasvoda, Nicole Ostrander, and Taylor Williamson for their unwavering companionship throughout the years.

In honor of Terry's life, a Memorial Gathering will take place on April 29, 2026, with family and friends gathering from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM, both at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service. The graveside service will be held at West Newton Cemetery. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
