Sylvia E. (Mergole) Younger, 88, of Camby, passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2016. Sylvia was born to Anthony and Elizabeth (Gorenscik) Mergole on December 4, 1927 in Lorain, OH. She graduated from Washington High School in 1945. She married Paul R. Younger on July 17, 1948.
Sylvia was an Avon saleswoman for 20 years. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bowling, traveling, and spending time with family. She lived in Camby for most of her life and grew up in Indianapolis.
Sylvia is survived by three children: Beverly J. (Timothy) Viles of Mooresville, Barbara J. (Mark) Unversaw of Indianapolis and Paul R. (Linda) Younger Jr. of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren: Timothy, Joseph, and Michael Viles, Amy Knue, Stacey Riggin, Ryan and Shane Unversaw, and Ashley Younger; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Rogers. Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, husband; and a sister, Hilda Byrne.
Family and friends may gather from 12 noon - 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 with a prayer service starting at 1 p.m. at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Father Francis Joseph will officiate Sylvia's celebration of life funeral mass at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1200 N. Indiana St., Mooresville. Sylvia will be laid to rest in Fairfield Cemetery, Camby. You are invited to light a virtual candle and send a message to the family via the internet. www.jonesfamilymortuary.com
