Sondra S. Chapman

Sondra S. (Browning) Chapman, 78, of White House, TN and formerly of Camby, IN for most of her life passed away on May 14, 2021. She was born on January 16, 1943 in Washington, IN, where she grew up, to the late Robert D. and Betty (Overton) Browning. Sondra was a 1961 graduate of Decatur Central High School. She later went and worked for the City of Indianapolis as a Senior Administrative Assistant for Mayor William H. Hudnut III and Richard Blankenship, who was the Director of Public Safety. She also worked for the Metropolitan Emergency Communication Association aka MECA. Sondra is survived by her two children: Brad (Shonna) Chapman of TN and Nicole Maddox (Rob Courtney) of Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Josh (Destini) Maddox, Jordan Maddox (Paige Willits), Mackenzie Chapman and Taylor Chapman; two great grandchildren: Phoenix and Bentlee; brother, Gary (Neda) Browning; long time childhood friend, Suzanne Price; friend of many years, Lisa Shane; and cousin and close friend, Richard Overton. Sondra is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joe Browning along with his wife Sam Browning. Family and friends may show their love and support at the memorial gathering from 10-11 am, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Jones Family Mortuary, 4165 East Allison Rd. Mooresville, IN 46158.
