Shirley Rose

Shirley Ann (Sheets) Rose, 77, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was born to James and Zula (Shane) Sheets on June 18, 1939 in Monrovia. She married Thomas Eugene Rose on November 3, 1956.

Shirley was a homemaker and was also a cook at Plainfield High School for 15 years. She enjoyed canning, knitting and word puzzles. She lived in Plainfield for several years and her birthplace of Monrovia for 25 years.

Shirley is survived by three sons, Richard L. Rose of Plainfield, Michael G. (Sarah) Rose of Mooresville and William "Bill" Rose of Plainfield; seven grandchildren, Emily Snider, Nathan Rose, Jamie Rose, Marlee Rose, Justin Rose, Sarah Jade Brown and Elaina Brown; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar Sonny Sheets of FL; four sisters, Betty Christy of Brownsburg, Alice Wade of Brownsburg, Lilly Cook of Monrovia and Gladys Russell of Plainfield. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Cindy Lynn Rose; two brothers, Larry and Junior Sheets; two sisters, Marjorie Whaley and Nancy Smith.

Family and friends may gather from 11:30 a.m. - 2p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Sue Whitesel will officiate Shirley's celebration of life service at 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Shirley will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
