Shirley Marksbary

Shirley J. (Hinkle) Marksbary, 81, of West Newton, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2016 with family by her side. Shirley was born to Earl Hinkle and Lucille (Wampler) Marksbary on December 14, 1934 in Bloomington.

Shirley was a Manager of a Dry Cleaners in Indianapolis. She loved reading and doing crossword puzzles. She lived in Decatur Township for most of her life and lived the first 15 years of her life in her birthplace of Bloomington.

Shirley is survived by four children, David (Carol) Portish of Mooresville, Raymond (Peggy) Marksbary of Greenwood, Loueva Gaye Marksbary of West Newton, Brett Marksbary of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loueva Gaye Young of Camby and Wilma Chambers of Bloomington. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rick Marksbary; a brother, Homer Hinkle; and two sisters, JoAnn Allen and Marcia Cannon.

Family and friends may gather from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville with Pastor Don Zlaty officiating Shirley's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Shirley will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery, Indianapolis.
