Shirley J. Jones

Shirley J. (Gladson) Jones, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, June 14th, 2023. She was born January 24th, 1938 in Indianapolis to her parents Howard and Lucille (Earls) Gladson. She married Larry W. Jones on January 14th, 1954. She was a resident of Indianapolis for most of her life.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Larry W. Jones of Indianapolis; her three children: Larry L. Jones (Melea) of Indianapolis, Sean W. Jones of Martinsville, and Matthew H. Jones (Lynn) of Mooresville. two grandchildren; and one great grandson. Shirley is preceded in death by both of her parents and one grandchild.

Shirley was a graduate of Washington High School. She was a member of the Mooresville Order of Eastern Star, Order of Amaranth and member of Marwood Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Shirley loved spending time with her family and attending her grandkids activities.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, June 19th and from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday, June 20th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am following visitation on Tuesday, June 20th at the funeral home. Shirley will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
