Sandra Kay Elsbury

Sandra Kay "Sandy" (Dean) Elsbury, 76, of Mooresville passed away Saturday, December 23rd, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born on January 17th, 1947 to the late Donald Dean and Mable (Day) Dean in Indianapolis. She married Bennie Elsbury on December 11th, 1965 and they were together 58 wonderful years.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Bennie Elsbury; two children: Edward Elsbury (Cindy) and Deanna Saylor (Rick); three grandchildren: Charlie, Dawn, and Ciara and twin brother, Rick Dean.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Kevin Saylor; and two brothers: Donald and Terry Dean.

Sandy was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School in Indianapolis. She was a Homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. Sandy enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and attending their events. Her favorite canine pet was Max. Sandy volunteered at Mooresville High School with the boys and girls basketball and football teams for over 20 years. If you know Sandy you know that kids come first.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8pm, Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 with additional visitation from 10-11am, Thursday, December 28th at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. The celebration of life service will be held at 11am, Thursday, December 28th at the Funeral Home. Sandy will be laid to rest in Mooresville Cemetery.
