Rutherford Mitchem

Rutherford C. Mitchem Jr., 58, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on May 28, 2018. Rutherford was born in Welch, West Virginia on January 19, 1960 to Rutherford C. Sr. and Dolores A. (Lawson) Mitchem.

Rutherford lived in Indianapolis for most of his life. He was a truck driver and Jack of all trades. He loved camping, fishing and grilling out. He was an avid race car fan and avid WWE wrestling fan.

Rutherford is survived by his father and step mother, Rutherford C. Sr. and Carolyn Mitchem; ten children: Rayleen (Donnie) Coss, Marie (Mike) Terhune, Rutherford (Brittany) Mitchem III, Robert Stevens, CharlieAnn (Robert) Terhune, Randy (Amanda) Stuart, Austin Stevens, Ryan (Mariah) Mitchem, Melissa Mitchem and Rebeca Mitchem; 22 grandchildren; one great grandson; five sisters: Leona Garrett, Fredia Elizabeth Hughes, Cathy Marcum Connie Welch and Carolyn Law; two brothers: Timothy Mitchem and Rocky McDaniel; 15 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Rutherford is also preceded in death by his mother, Dolores A. (Lawson) Mitchem; granddaughter, Heaven Collison; and brother, Rickie McDaniel.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Bill Wright will officiate the Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Springhill Christian Center, 12150 North Rooker Rd., Mooresville, IN 46158.
