Rosemary (Poe) Burkett, 93, of Noblesville, passed away Thursday, May 12th, 2022. She was born December 28th, 1928 in Indianapolis to her parents Jesse and Katherine (Rapp) Poe. She was married to the late Richard Paul Burkett.
Rosemary is survived by her son, Paul (Melinda) Burkett of Virginia; one daughter, Miriam Burkett of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren: Bradley Burkett and Aaron Burkett. Rosemary is preceded in death by both of her parents; and her husband, Richard Paul Burkett.
Rosemary was a Nanny/Caretaker for several different families and had a positive impact on and for those families.
Rosemary was a native Hoosier, growing up on the south side of Indianapolis. During World War II, she served as a Red Cross 'Gray Lady', providing companionship and support to wounded service members. She would later serve as a long distance telephone operator, provided support to the Girl Scouts of America, and was the telephone switchboard operator at WISH-TV. Later in life, Rosemary served as a loving nanny and caregiver to children throughout our community.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A graveside service will be held at a 1030am on Wednesday, May 18th at Mooresville Cemetery, where Rosemary will be laid to rest.
