Ronnie Wayne Blankenship

Ronnie Wayne Blankenship, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on February 19, 1951, in Lafayette, Tennessee, to his parents Donald Wayne and Lattie June (Douglas) Blankenship, Ronnie spent most of his life in Indiana, where he cultivated a legacy of warmth, camaraderie, and unwavering kindness. He married Melody Louise (Joyner) Blankenship on October 17, 1981 and the two spent nearly 45 beautiful years together.

Ronnie was a proud graduate of Ben Davis High School, Class of 1970, and dedicated 42 years of his life to his work in skilled trades; in testing and engineering at Allison Transmission, from which he retired in 2013. His career was marked by diligence and commitment, skills he honed with the same passion he reserved for his hobbies and cherished moments spent with family.

A spiritual man, Ronnie was a long-time attendee of Radiant Bible Church in Avon for 18 years and previously nurtured his faith as a member for 22 years at Seerley Creek Church. In both places, his warmth and genuine spirit touched many lives, as he was known for his heartfelt stories and his comforting sense of humor.

Ronnie cherished the simple joys of life. He loved to fish, particularly in the serene lakes of Canada, and spent countless hours strumming his guitar, filling gathering spaces with music and laughter. A loyal Chevy enthusiast, he often shared tales of classic cars and road trips. Most significantly, he treasured moments spent surrounded by his family, creating memories that will be lovingly held in their hearts.

Survived by his beloved wife, Melody Louise Blankenship, and two devoted daughters, Mary Beth Blankenship and Angela Louise Reynolds (Danny), Ronnie's spirit will also be carried on by his brothers, Byron Blankenship (Elaine) and Dennis Blankenship (Jane). He is fondly remembered by his cousins, Steve Blankenship and Sheila Jones, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whose lives he touched with his generosity and love.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jason Blankenship, who await him in eternal peace.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville, with a public visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Friday, August 7. The funeral service will take place at the same location at 1:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Greenwood Cemetery Morgantown in Greenwood.
