Ronald Walker

Ronald David Walker, 66 years of age passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009. He was born September 26, 1942 in Marked Tree, AR to the late John David walker and Quinnie (Bishop) Walker. He married Sandra L. (Niemeier)Walker of Camby, IN on September 28, 1963. Ronald has lived in Decatur Township for most of his life. He was a 1961 Ben Davis High School graduate and was also a member of the Lafayette Heights Church of Christ where he also served an an elder for many years. He loved camping and working with wood. He was happiest when working with his hands. In his early years, he built custom homes for 10 years. Later he became self-employed as a Semi-Truck Owner/Operator for many years, retiring in 2005. Ronald is the BELOVED HUSBAND OF Sandra L. (Niemeier) Walker of Camby, IN; He is also survived by 4 Children: Ronna (Craig) Howell of West Newton, IN, Todd (Tammy) Walker of Greenwood, IN, Stacy (Greg) King of Benton, IL, and Sean (Karie) Walker of Danville, IN; Mother, Quinnie Walker of Indianapolis, IN; 11 Grandchildren: Brittany, Brooke, Ryan, Jenna, Shelby, Ellie, Mitchell, Lindsey, Halle, Jeffrey, and Rylee; 3 Sisters: Kay (Herb) Bazemore, Jerrilyn (Tony) Thetford, and Shirley (Steve) Park; and many other family and friends. He is also preceded in death by his Father, John David Walker. There will be calling hours for Ronald from 4-8pm, Friday, March 13, 2009 and from 11-12noon, Saturday, March 14, 2009, all at Jones Crossing Banquet Center (next door to Jones Family Mortuary). The funeral will be at 12noon, Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center in Mooresville, IN. John Smith will officiate the service and Ronald David Walker will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Vincent Hospice, 8450 N.
