Robert D "Bob" Vanmatre

Robert D "Bob" VanMatre, 65, of Mooresville, passed away Saturday, April 3rd, 2021. He was born January 10th, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida to his parents, Bob VanMatre and Betty (Thomas) Miller. Bob was raised in Winston Salem, North Carolina and then resided in Indianapolis from 1989 to 2011. He was a resident of Mooresville since 2011. Bob is survived by one daughter, Rachel VanMatre of Carmel; and two brothers: David and Rick VanMatre of North Carolina. Bob is preceded in death by both of his parents; one son, Travis VanMatre; and one sister, Debbie VanMatre. Bob was a 1981 graduate of Forsyth Technical College where he obtained his Associate Degree. He was the Maintenance Tech for Arbor Manor Apartment Complex. Bob loved fishing, nature in general and going to the beach. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he would give you the shirt off his back. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
