Robert Scaggs

Robert S. Scaggs, 87, of Mooresville died September 30, 2010. He was born September 27, 1923 in Indianapolis to the late Carl and Artie May (Gerholdt) Scaggs. Before retiring in 1978 Robert was a Machinest for Diamond Chain for 31 years. He was also a Custodian for Newby Elementary in Mooresville for 10 years. Robert was a lifetime member of the Mooresville VFW Post #1111 and also a lifetime member of Mooresville American Legion Post #103. He served in the Army as a Pvt during World War II. He lived most of his life in Mooresville. He is survived by 8 children: Dixie L. (Joe) Wilson, Robert C. Scaggs, William G. Scaggs, Evelyn M. (Jerry) Westenhofer, Becky Scaggs, Janice L. (Tom) Barnhart, Michelle L. (Missy Forbes) Scaggs and Cheyenne E. Scaggs; 10 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; ex-wife, Dorothy Lee (Soots) Scaggs; companion, Linda Morrison. He was preceded by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be from 2-6pm, Sunday, October 3, 2010 and 9-10am, Monday, October 4, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville, with the funeral at 10am on Monday.
