Robert Ryan

Robert J. "Bob" Ryan, 74 years of age passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008. He was born November 1, 1934 in Streator, IL to the late Joseph A. and Dorothy E. (Huckins) Ryan. He married the late Anna R. (Earles) Ryan on April 14, 1955. Bob has lived in Mooresville, IN since 1999, Indianapolis, IN for 60 years, and in his birthplace of Streator, IL for 5 years. He was a 1952 Cathedral High School Graduate and also a Veteran for the US Navy. Bob loved auto racing, especially all events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Before retiring in 1988, he was a Mold Maker for Chrysler Foundry in Indianapolis, IN for 30 years. He also worked as a Gold Badge Security Person at the Indianapolis Speedway for 25 years. Bob is survived by 1 Daughter, Barbara J. (Donald) Reynolds of Mooresville, IN; 6 Grandchildren: Beth, Amy, Stacy, Kevin, Nicole, and Ashley; 10 Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother, James F. Ryan of Indianapolis, IN; and Several Nieces and Nephews. He is also preceded in death by 2 Daughters, Kelly Ryan and Susan (Ryan) Wood; 1 Sister, Ruth Harris; and 1 Grandson, Brandon Ryan. Calling hours for Bob will be from 1-7pm, Sunday, December 28, 2008 and from 10:30-11:30am, Monday, December 29, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. The funeral will be at 11:30am, Monday, December 29, 2008. Pastor Lyman Taylor will officiate the service and Bob will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Greenwood, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
