Robert Martin

Robert R. Martin 84, of Martinsville, IN passed away Monday, February 9, 2009. He was born June 18, 1924 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Willis J. Martin and the late Ethel (Deeds) Martin. Robert married the late Bette (Brown) Martin on March 25, 1947. Robert has lived in Martinsville, IN for 15 years; Indianapolis, IN for 25 years; Winter Haven, FL for 16 years; and in Mooresville, IN for 28 years. He loved wood working and helping his wife with crafts and craft booths. He was a Machine Operator for Brideport Brass in Indianapolis, IN for 38 years before retiring in 1980. He also operated a Candy Concession at the Indiana State Fair for many years. Robert is survived by his 3 Children: Robert Steven Martin of Centerton, IN, Richard Edward of Mooresville, IN, and Toni Cheryl Alexander of Plainfield, IN; 4 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Sister, Alberta Wethinton of Indianapolis, IN. He is also preceded in death by 2 Sisters, Rosie Lynette and Margie McKensie. Calling hours for Robert Martin will be from 4-8pm, Thursday, February 12, 2009 and from 9-10am, Friday, February 13, 2009 all at Jones Family Mortuary. The funeral for Robert will be at 10am, Friday, February 13, 2009 with Don Endsley to officiate. Robert will be laid to rest at Centerton Cemetery.
