Robert James Pearcy

Robert James Foster "R.J." Pearcy, 89, of Camby, IN, smoked his last cigarette, put away his hammer and crossed the threshold into the arms of his family who passed before him. R.J. was born in Vincennes, IN on December 25, 1930 to the late Raymond Bryan and Sarah Alice (Foster) Pearcy. R.J. married the late H. Jean (Lutes) Pearcy on February 19, 1950. R.J. was owner and operator of Pearcy Engineering Company for 53 years before retiring in 2004. He was a 50 year member of West Newton Masonic Lodge #707; Scottish Rite; Murat Shrine; former Board Member of The Noble Center; and National Association of Power Engineers. He enjoyed being a master carpenter and loved gardening around the home. R.J. is survived by two daughters: Trudi (John) Wood of FL and Paula (Don) Peters of Carmel; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Donald (Jo) Pearcy. R.J. is also preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Margot Pearcy; sister, Peggy Eaton; and brother, Maurice Pearcy. Family and friends may pay their respects from 5-8 pm, Tuesday, January 28, 2020 and 10-11 am, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Daughter, Trudi Wood will officiate the celebration of life service at 11 am, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the funeral home. R.J. will be laid to rest in Fairfield Friends Cemetery, Camby.
