Robert Howell

Robert R. Howell, 88, of Mooresville, IN, died on Monday, January 10, 2011. He was born on October 4, 1922 in Knightsville, IN to Rev. Arthur & Bertha M. (Northway) Howell. He married Lilah Mae (Van Meter) Howell on January 13, 1952. Before retiring in 1984, He was an Inspector for Allison's in Indianapolis, IN for 34 years. He was a member of the Mooresville First United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Pittsboro United Methodist Church, where he was involved with the church choir, men's group and Church in Missions. He was a 1942 West Terre Haute High School Graduate. He was an Army, World War II Veteran. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1950, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. He lived in his birthplace of Knightsville, IN for 13 years, West Terre Haute, IN for 4 years, Pittsboro, IN for 50 years and Mooresville, IN for 13 years. He is survived by his wife, Lilah Mae (Van Meter) Howell of Mooresville, IN; 2 Sons, Douglas M. Howell & Roger (Karen) Howell, both of Mooresville, IN; 4 Grandchildren, Lori Fitzgerald, James Shugars, Christopher Howell & Elizabeth Slack; 2 Great Grandchildren, Macey Shugars & Chase Kendall; 1 Brother, Rev. John Howell of AL. He is preceded in death by his Parents,Rev. Arthur & Bertha M. (Northway) Howell and 6 Brothers, Rev. Hillary Howell, Aubrey Howell, Rev. Stanley Howell, Rev. Gaylord Howell, Rev. Forest Howell & Rev. Morris Howell. Calling will be from 4-8pm, Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary. There will be also be an hour of calling before the 10:30am Funeral Service on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Mooresville First United Methodist Church. Rev. Glenn Howell & Rev. Dennis Payton will officiate the Funeral Service. He will be buried in Clayton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, 115 W.
