Robert Dillon

Robert Oliver Dillon, 80, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2013. Robert was born to Harold O. & Grace (Phillips) Dillon on April 13, 1933 in Martinsville, IN. Robert is widowed from Mary Ethel (Young) Dillon. Robert is currently married to Phyliss (Park) Dillon. Robert was a 1951 Monrovia High School graduate. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. He was a Purchasing Agent for Detroit Diesel Allison Plant 3 for 25 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Monrovia First United Methodist Church and Clayton Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed trapping, golfing ,tennis and taking care of people. Robert is survived by his wife, Phyliss Dillon of Plainfield; three children, Gary (Carol) Dillon of Plainfield, Karen (Paul) Johnson of Coatesville and Rhonda Dillon of Greencastle; three grandchildren, Ryan, Rusty & Travis; six great grandchildren and two step children, Jane and Paul. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Harold O. & Grace (Phillips) Dillon and his first wife, Mary Ethel Dillon. Family and friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 and 10-11 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Pastor Larry Edwards will officiate the 11 a.m. celebration of life service on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary. Robert will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, IN.
