Robert Lee DeMotte, 80, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Wellbrooke of Avon. He was born August 9, 1934 in Velpen, IN to the late Elmer and Naomi (Harrison) DeMotte. He married Lois (Masters) DeMotte on May 19, 1963. Robert was a 1952 graduate of Otwell High School. He served in the Army. He was a Journeymen for Allison's Transmission for 37 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, vacationing with family and volunteering at the church. Robert is survived by his wife, Lois DeMotte of Indianapolis; 2 daughters: Pam (Bob "Hef") Hefner of Indianapolis and Debbie Walters of Indianapolis; 3 grandchildren: Clayton, Nichole and Jessica. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Naomi (Harrison) DeMotte and sister, Donna Traylor. Family and friends may gather 2 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 and 9 am to 10 am, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Ronald Branson will officiate the celebration of life service at 10 am, Thursday, July 2, 2015 also at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Robert will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
