Ricky Murray

Ricky L. Murray, 61, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2017. He was born to William Thomas Murray and Dorothy Irene (Jones) Simshauser on November 12, 1955 in Pueblo, CO. He graduated from Mooresville High School in 1974.

Ricky worked as a construction laborer for Labor Union Local 120 for 27 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Construction Laborer Union Local 120. He enjoyed watching his son, Richard, compete in Drag Racing. He also loved to travel and watch NASCAR Racing. He lived in Mooresville for most of his life.

Ricky is survived by two loving children, Richard H. Murray of Mooresville and Brittany N. Murray of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Christian Walker, Ashlyn Murray, Addison Murray and Leighla Murray; a sister, Vicky Mattingly of Monrovia; and a brother, Randy Murray of Martinsville. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Murray.

Family and friends may gather for calling hours from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, November 13th and 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14th in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Ken Hayden will officiate Ricky's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14th in the funeral home. Ricky will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
