It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard G. Stafford, fondly known as "Rick," who departed this life on January 17th, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on March 25th, 1950, in Indianapolis, to his parents, Richard Lee and Clatis Geraldine (Stawder) Stafford, Rick spent his life dedicated to family, music, and service. He married Jayne E. (Crafton) Stafford on December 23rd, 2000.
Rick attended Broad Ripple High School and devoted over 40 years as an Assembly Line Worker for General Motors before retiring in 2008. He was not only an industrious worker but also a passionate member and past Deacon of the First Christian Church in Broad Ripple, where he instilled his values of honesty and compassion in all who knew him.
A lover of music, Rick found joy in both playing the drums and guitar, as well as listening to his favorite tunes. He had a special bond with his beloved animals, particularly Tinkerbell, his cherished cat, whom he loved dearly. Known for his straightforward nature and a heart full of opinions, Rick was a man who spoke his mind and touched the lives of those around him.
Rick is survived by his devoted wife, Jayne E. Stafford; his daughters, Melissa Bengele (Christopher) and Amanda Good (Cory Downs), both of Noblesville; his step-son, Michael Perry; and ten grandchildren: Raymond, Ashley, Lauren, William, Thomas, Evalynn, Sarai, Makayla, Wyatt, and Mason. He also leaves behind a great granddaughter, Delilah, who brought him immense joy. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Stafford.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Rick's life and the impact he had on so many, during a visitation from 11 am to 12 pm on Tuesday, January 27th at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A funeral service will begin at 12 pm following visitation. Rick will be laid to rest during a graveside service that will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN,
