Richard Wayne Hitchcock

Richard Wayne Hitchcock, 74, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, He was born April 15th, 1951 in New City, New York to his parents Robert Lafayette and Myrtle Bessie Hitchcock. He was married to the late Annette Lee (Haviland) Hitchcock on June 27th, 1973.

Richard is survived by his daughter; Carrie Hitchcock of Greenwood; three grandchildren: Ashley Lowe (James) of Martinsville, Erica Alexander of Greenwood, and Camryn Alexander of Greenwood; two great grandsons: James Lowe III of Martinsville and Christopher Lowe of Martinsville; and three siblings; Robert J. Hitchcock, Walter E. Hitchcock, and Elizabeth Pratt.

Richard is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Annette Lee Hitchcock; and son, Chris Hitchcock.

Richard was a proud graduate who answered the call of duty by joining the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His passion for racing, playing darts, and watching sports fueled his adventurous spirit, and he took pride in building his own stock cars. Deeply devoted to his family, he treasured every moment spent with them. Known for his strength, Richard exemplified resilience and love.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
