He was born September 15, 1951 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Richard Byrd and the late Othella Lecta (Vibbert) Donovan. He married Kathryn (McLain) Byrd of Indianapolis, IN on January 1, 1987. Richard is a lifetime resident of Indianapolis, IN. He is a Veteran of the Army and also loved Fishing, Camping, and being with his family. Richard is survived by his Wife, Kathryn (McLain) Byrd of Indianapolis, IN; 6 Children: Christopher McLain of Arizona, Bruce Paro of Indianapolis, IN, Richard Byrd Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, Shannon Spears of Indianapolis, IN, Carrie Byrd of Indianapolis, IN, and Wendi McLain of Indianapolis, IN; 9 Grandchildren; 1 Brother, Walter Byrd of Indianapolis, IN; and 2 Half Brothers, Timothy and Thomas Donovan of Indianapolis, IN. He is also preceded in death by 1 Brother, David Byrd. Calling hours for Richard will be from 12noon-1pm, Saturday, December 8, 2007 with the funeral beginning at 1pm, Saturday, December 8, 2007 both held at Jones Family Mortuary. Bill Rooker will officiate the service.
