Rev. Bernard Bee Jr., pastor of Oak Park Baptist Church in Indianapolis, died on April 29, 2012 from complications of pneumonia and lung fibrosis. He was a resident of Mooresville since 1962. Over the years Pastor Bee participated in many activities for the Mooresville Senior Center, delivered food to the Church in Mission and the Senior Center, thanks to gracious donations by local groceries. He also visited many shut-ins throughout the area. Pastor Bee served his country state-side in WWII developing mobile truck machine shops and teaching other engineers how to improvise in the field. He trained recruits from West Point to Saint Louis. He served in many positions and was proud of being part of the guard for FDR just before his death. He was Master Mechanic and Owner of Indianapolis Dental Specialty for 59 years, retiring in 2000. He is survived by 2 daughters: Connie Marie (Les) Bowling and Peggy Ann Thomas both of Mooresville; 5 grandchildren: Michael (Bethany) Bowling of Camby, Heather (Michael) Kistler of Indianapolis, Meredith (Randall II) Bee of Greencastle, Elizabeth (Chad) Walker of Indianapolis and Kaitlyn Thomas of Moab, UT; 5 great grandchildren: Gabriel, Michaela and Brynn Bowling and Kayleigh and Brandon Kistler; 3 brothers: Ralph Bee of Indianapolis, Howard Bee of Plainfield and Donald Bee of Indianapolis and sister, Sherry Tamlin of Brownsburg. He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. (Autry) Bee; parents, Bernard B. Bee Sr. and Anna Belle (Bowers) Bee; 3 brothers: Robert, Dwayne and Richard Bee; 2 sisters: Ada Cohen and Geneva Bee. Friends may call from 3-8pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 and 9:30-10:30am, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, Mooresville, next to Jones Family Mortuary. Funeral services will also be at Jones Crossing Banquet Center at 10:30am, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 with George Schoonmaker officiating. Pastor Bee will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International and Oak Park Baptist Church. Website and online condolences at www.jonesfamilymortuary.com.
